Description

The Barrel Convergence Cards are a proven tool for developing and improving convergence skills as part of vision therapy programs. Each card features three red targets and three green targets positioned opposite one another, enabling patients to practice shifting focus between corresponding points.

When held against the nose, these cards create a structured exercise that helps strengthen convergence ability and improve binocular coordination. Constructed from durable material for repeated use, they are ideal for both in-office therapy and home reinforcement exercises

Product Guide for Vision Exercises:

Hold the card with your thumb and index finger at the bottom edge, midway between the front and back edges. The largest

barrel should be facing towards you, and the barrels should be positioned horizontally. Hold the card in the middle of your

body, in the median plane. If you have strong convergence, hold the card close to your nose. If it’s too difficult, hold it 4” to

6” away from your nose.

To check that the card is properly placed, alternate winking each eye. If you see the same amount of the card on each side,

it is in the median plane. Fixate your gaze on the far barrel until you see it singly, and the middle and forward barrels appear

double. Now fixate on the middle barrel until it appears single, and the other two barrels appear double. Alternate your

convergence between the barrels, ensuring that the one you’re looking at is single and the other two are double.

If your convergence is weak, gradually move the card closer to your nose until you can easily alternate and converge your

gaze. To create a variation, rotate the card approximately 15 degrees so that the front edge is facing downwards. This will

make it appear as though you’re looking down on top of the barrels, increasing their separation and depth perception.

This card is designed for use by individuals who do not wear bifocals
